Ilitha means “Ray of Light” in isiXhosa.
The name reflects our belief that every child carries something bright within them — imagination, courage, curiosity and the ability to grow.
At Ilitha, light is more than a symbol. It represents hope, belonging and the freedom to express what cannot always be spoken in words.
Ilitha Academy was imagined as a place where children feel safe, seen and free to create.
While artistic development is an important part of our work, our deeper purpose is to nurture emotional wellbeing, resilience, confidence and connection.
